
Kicera Sparks Big Second Half to Put Away Lehigh, 4-1

Bethlehem, Pa. - The Drexel field hockey team scored three times in the second half to break a 1-1 halftime tie and continue the Dragons' hot streak. Drexel has won five of its last six games as the Dragons improved their overall record to 10-7. Amanda Kicera notched two goals while Emily Horvat and Jen Cairone also added scores.
Horvat gave the Dragons the lead when she re-directed an Amanda Kicera shot just after the 11-minute mark in the first half. Lehigh answered just before the intermission off of a penalty corner. Kicera responded after the break as she notched the game-winning goal on an assist from Jordan Freese. Minutes later, Kicera deflected a Jennifer Bolger shot to increase the Dragons' lead. Cairone added more insurance as she scored after receiving a pass from Casey Mouser to give Drexel a 4-1 advantage.
Drexel goalie Colleen McAndrew made five saves in recording her 28th career victory. The Dragons held an 11-7 advantage in penalty corners while both teams took 11 shots.
Drexel will face rival Delaware on Friday, Oct. 26 in Newark, Del.
